Non-cast vinyl overlaminates for compatible intermediate graphics on flat surfaces and simple curves. The current 3M bulletin specifies 8508 gloss at 2.6 mil, 8509 luster at 3 mil, and 8510M matte at 3.5 mil. The 8510M matte overlaminate has a clear, permanent adhesive and a Kraft paper liner. Suitable uses include signs, labels, displays and smooth-wall graphics. Floor applications are limited to approved constructions using 8509 or 8510M.

Compatible print media
For IJ46-20, 3M identifies 8508 gloss and 8509 luster as graphic-protection options. Choose the width required by the selected media. This recommendation is limited to 8508 and 8509, not 8510M.

Choose the exact gloss, luster or matte option and follow the matched print-film and ink instructions. Fully dry or cure printed graphics before lamination. The floor-use discussion in the overlaminate bulletin applies to 8509 and 8510M, not 8508, and still requires the specified matched construction, surface preparation, inspection and maintenance. It is not universal floor approval.

For 8508 gloss or 8509 luster, the following film bulletins list these two overlaminates as graphic-protection options. This is not a recommendation for every laminate finish or for floor use.
- 40C gloss, matte or transparent print film
- IJ35C gloss / matte print film
- IJ35-10 gloss-white print film
- IJ39-20 high-tack print film
Match 54 in film with a 54 in laminate. The 60 in options here are 8508 gloss only; 8509 luster is listed at 54 in. Check the selected length, finish, ink system, substrate and exposure. No matched-length kit or blanket warranty is implied.
