Metamark M7 is a 2.75-mil high-performance polymerically stabilized calendered sign vinyl. It has a permanent solvent-based adhesive, a lay-flat Kraft liner and a gloss or matte finish according to the selected color. Outdoor durability depends on color, climate zone and angle of exposure.
Is Metamark M7 a replacement for discontinued MACtac 9800 vinyl?
Metamark M7 is commonly used as a replacement option for discontinued MACtac 9800 high-performance calendered vinyl. Color names and shades are not identical, so use the Metamark-to-MACtac comparison chart and confirm important matches with a physical sample.
Can Metamark M7 be used for vehicle lettering?
Yes. Metamark M7 is designed for compatible vehicle lettering, fleet markings and commercial graphics on flat or slightly curved surfaces. Apply it unstressed; it is not suitable for rivets or complex recesses. Test the intended substrate before production.
How long does Metamark M7 last outdoors?
Outdoor durability depends on the selected color, climate zone and angle of exposure, as well as preparation, installation and maintenance. Use the manufacturer’s technical data sheet together with its regional durability guide for the installation location. Northern European durability ratings do not apply unchanged to US installations.
What adhesive does Metamark M7 use?
Metamark M7 uses a permanent solvent-based adhesive designed for dependable long-term hold on compatible prepared surfaces. The surface must be clean, smooth and suitable for pressure-sensitive vinyl.
Is Metamark M7 a cast vinyl?
No. Metamark M7 is a high-performance calendered vinyl, not a cast film. Its application limits are flat or slightly curved surfaces, applied unstressed. It is not suitable for rivets or complex recesses.
What Metamark M7 roll sizes are available?
Great Lakes Graphic Supply lists Metamark M7 in 24-inch by 30-foot rolls and 24-inch by 165-foot full rolls. Qualifying in-stock colors may also be available by the foot or as partial rolls with no minimum purchase.
Will a Metamark or MACtac comparison chart provide an exact color match?
No. A comparison chart identifies similar colors but cannot guarantee an exact match. Monitor settings, lighting, age and material construction can affect appearance. Use a physical Metamark color chart or sample when an exact match is important.
Is Metamark M7 easy to cut and weed?
Metamark M7 is designed to provide clean cutting and weeding for professional sign production. Cutting results still depend on blade condition, blade angle, force, speed, design detail and cutter setup, so perform a test cut before production.
