Frames And Stakes FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About Sign Frames and Stakes

What sign material works with wire step stakes?

Wire step stakes are designed for compatible corrugated-plastic sign panels. The reinforced 10-inch by 30-inch stakes sold by Great Lakes Graphic Supply are intended for compatible 4 mm Coroplast and similar corrugated-plastic material.

Which direction should the Coroplast flutes run for a step stake?

The Coroplast flutes must run vertically so the stake wires can slide upward into the panel. Confirm the flute direction before printing, cutting or applying graphics to the sign blank.

What is the difference between a step stake and a real estate frame?

A step stake inserts into the flutes of a corrugated-plastic yard sign and is commonly used for temporary signs. A real estate frame is a heavier steel support designed to hold a compatible rigid sign panel for a more substantial outdoor display.

What size panel fits an 18-inch by 24-inch real estate frame?

The frame is designed for a compatible 18-inch by 24-inch main sign panel. Panel thickness, mounting-hole placement and attachment method must also match the frame, so confirm the specifications before producing the sign.

What is a rider on a real estate sign frame?

A rider is a smaller secondary sign panel used to display additional information such as an agent name, phone number, property status or special message. The double-rider frame listed by Great Lakes Graphic Supply has positions for two compatible 6-inch by 24-inch rider panels.

When should a folding A-frame be used?

A folding A-frame is useful when a sign must be portable, displayed temporarily or stored between uses. It can be used for open houses, events, directional signs and storefront messages. The frame should be secured or removed during strong winds and severe weather.

Can frames and stakes be ordered in bulk?

Yes. Bulk quantities, replacement parts and additional frame or stake styles may be available even when they are not listed online. Call 1-800-477-6275 with the required product, panel dimensions and quantity so current inventory and special-order options can be checked.
